For Ryan Reynolds’ birthday, actor Hugh Jackman had posted a very funny image on social media. This photo shared by Jackman shows an embrace between the Wolverine and Deadpool stars.
“Because I’m told that I AM THE NICEST GUY and you’re NOT,” Jackman has posted,
“[Ryan Reynolds]… I will let you hug me. Just this once.On your birthday.”
Unfortunately, Wolverine and Deadpool have not really shared the screen together (once, but we do not want to talk about that). Ryan Reynolds tried to convince Hugh Jackman to reprise the Logan role so that he could make an appearance in a Deadpool sequel, but Hugh Jackman said he wanted to keep Wolverine buried.
If Ryan Reynolds were to lure Jackman into the role of Wolverine, the chance would be in Drew Goddard’s upcoming X-Force film.
“I tend to focus very intensely on one project at a time,” Goddard had said.
“I sort of am just finishing up Bad Times here. I think once we do that, once we’ve birthed this movie out into the world, then it’ll be time to [figure out] what’s next, and meet with Ryan, and Fox and Disney, and figure out what makes sense.”
Goddard had been asked whether he and Reynolds wanted the movie, X-Force to be Deadpool’s next silver screen film.
“I think so. Ryan and I have a very good communication, and we’re both incredibly excited about the opportunities,” he had said.
“I think when you’re dealing with billion-dollar mergers, it’s hard to know what’s going to happen to be honest. Like when Disney and Fox are combining, those issues are so far above our paygrade! I’ve learned to just be patient and wait and see what happens, and go from there.”
