Lucasfilm has now announced that an all-new virtual reality Star Wars show called Vader Immortal is all set to be out for the Oculus Quest in the year, 2019.
Having been revealed at the Oculus Quest 2018 event, a developer conference in California, this show had been debuted as a launch title for Oculus Quest VR device which will come in the year, 2019. This very first trailer features Darth Vader with the “Episode I” at the end, and this signified the first of many parts in this new Darth Vader series. After many tweets that had contained a few second-hand recordings of the trailer that had been shown at this conference, the full-length trailer had been uploaded.
Being a product from the ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s property which specializes in augmented reality, VR, and a few other technologies has produced many Star Wars titles before which put all the players on planets of Tatooine and also dives deeper into the story arcs of the Empire.
The VR experience has been in development for quite some time with David S. Goyer ad he had teased this reveal a few years ago. At one ILMxLAB panel in the year, 2016, Road To VR had reported that Goyer had teased this project and spoke about the characters:
“It exists within the Star Wars universe, it involves characters that you know or some that may have been talked about but you haven’t seen before, and it will be adding to the existing canon,” he had said.
“So we’ve got the entire Star Wars universe at our disposal. What planet do we want to be on, what location, what character is so iconic that we need to know more about this character?”
Oculus Quest and Vader Immortal will release in 2019.
