After almost 10 years in the MCU, RDJ surely cannot be blamed if he wants to hang up his Iron Man suit. The Marvel fanbase for a long time has been predicting that Tony Stark’s journey would come to an end, and Avengers: Endgame seems to be the perfect opportunity to give the actor his emotional farewell.
With this said, since Marvel Studios is yet to offer the fans a confirmation on this, there is some room for a lot of doubt that Avengers: Endgame would serve as the character’s swan song. A new report from Robert Downey Jr. suggests that the chances of Stark having a place in the MCU’s Phase 4 are slim.
The Twitter account that is dedicated to all things Downey had sent the fans into despair and panic with this announcement:
“BREAKING NEWS: @RobertDowneyJr’s contract ends with #AvengersEndgame”.
The Marvel enthusiasts are not pleased with this news, but considering what we have heard, this announcement is no shock, with a few fans having assumed that Downey would leave the franchise after the movie.
Avengers: Endgame will release on April 26th, 2019.
